I'm flying to/from Tokyo via Narita airport on 1st and 15th April. Will the NEX round-trip ticket be valid for that period?

Depends on when you use the Narita Express. The ticket is valid for 14 consecutive calendar days. If you use the NEX on the 1st, the return ticket is valid until the 14th. So, if you take the NEX back to Narita on the 14th and spend the last night near the airport, it can be used. But if you do not return to the airport until the 15th, then it cannot be used.
