Kansai Thru Pass 2015/4/5 20:36
Dears,
I will spend one week in japan, and I will visit only Kansai area.
I have two questions about kansai thru pass (3 days):

- i will arrive at kanasi airport at 7pm, if I take the train to osaka with the kansai thru pass that day, will be consume one of the 3 days with this?

- osaka and kyoto city buses and metro are included in for the days that the pass are not active? for exemple: if I stay one day at Osaka and I take the metro with the kansai thru pass, will these consume also a day of the pass takein only metro?

thank you very much

1)
Yes,so. NOT 48(72)hrs total.
1day means from morning 1st until last train/bus the day mid night.
Some urban lines over 24:00 still oparated.

Metro is "subway" in Japan and also using
"city" is "MUNICIPAL" instead for Osaka and Kyoto subway/bus.

Each day of the Kansai Thru Pass is from Midnight to Midnight.
If you use it at 7PM you waste 19 hours of that day.
I don't think the pass will pay off for you, especially in Kyoto. A 1-day bus pass is only Y500. A 3-day Kansai Thru Pass is Y1733 per day. There are 1-day Osaka passes, too.
