Kawaguchiko requires a bus to get you there that is not covered by the JR Pass. Just to let you know.
You can train to a nearby station but have to do a transfer to bus.

Your plan seems solid and sound.

Do visit Himeji on the way to Kyoto. No point visiting Kyoto then backtracking to Himeji.

Do stay in Miyajima before staying in Hiroshima. Makes travelling simpler and more convenient.

Hi Joshua,

Is it okay to stay in Hiroshima then? I've booked accommodation in Hiroshima. I was intending to use the first day visiting Miyajima , and the second in Hiroshima, then back to Tokyo.
