Ume and Cherry Blossoms season over? 2015/4/9 11:02
Is the Ume and Cherry Blossoms viewing season over at Mito's Kairakuen? I will be visiting there Saturday, April 11, 2015. Any information is appreciated.

You might get some of the main cherry blossoms - but they may be over by then.

There should however be some late blooming varieties at least though....

Mito tends to bloom later than Tokyo due to the milder climate - but I'm not there so I can't tell you how much they are behind....

If you're in Mito already, then you might consider moving up further northeast!

The cherry blossoms in most parts of Tohoku and Hokkaido are about to bloom now: http://zoomingjapan.com/travel/cherry-blossom-spots-in-tohoku-and-hokk...

Thank you to everyone who replied to my inquiry. Due to this late date, I have no choice except to go ahead and visit Mito. If I am lucky, I'll be able to see at least the Cherry Blossoms around the lake and Kairakuen park. Thanks again.
