Hi Everybody ! I will be in Tokyo on May 5th. I'd love to see the beautiful Fuji flower. My problem is I don't have much time. I must join my group at 2 pm. So I can't go far away from the city. Please give me the information Where and How to go to the place where I can see and take photos with Fuji flower. I will stay at Shinagawa Prince hotel Thank you so much in advance!

This year, the Fuji Matsuri at Kameido Tenjin (shrine) is from April 18 to May 6. Even without the flowers it is a lovely place to see. At SHINAGAWA Station, take the Yamanote line on Track 1. Go to AKIHABARA and go up to the Sobu line. Take the train going toward Chiba. Go 4 stops to KAMEIDO station. The shrine is a 10 to 15 minute walk from there. See map. http://dickh.zenfolio.com/img/s6/v135/p1134187243-4.jpg

Right next to Hamamatsucho Station (Yamanote Line) is the Kyu Shiba Rikyu Park ( http://teien.tokyo-park.or.jp/en/kyu-shiba/index.html) which has a nice tree and benches to sit under. I went last year too early for the wisteria, but the irises and botan were beautiful. It's a nice little park, and if you're limited on time, it's easy to get to and from. For those looking for Wisteria and have a bit more time, another nice spot is the Jindai Botanical Garden. Entrance is 500 yen, and has a lot to see. It's a bit farther though. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jindai_Botanical_Gardenhttp://www.enjoytokyo.jp/amuse/event/425716/In Hinode-machi near Tachikawa (Chuo Line from Shinjuku then transfer), in the mountains around the town there is a 400 year old wild wisteria vine that is growing all over a few trees. It's a bit further out, but looks beautiful! http://www.town.hinode.tokyo.jp/cmsfiles/contents/0000000/436/(7)ohgun...http://blue_moon.typepad.com/blue_lotus/2006/04/hinodeyama.htmlhttp://www.enjoytokyo.jp/amuse/event/425396/At Kokuryo Shrine there is a Wisteria festival held on the 29th for anyone free that day. From Shinjuku, take the Keio line to Kokuryo then walk about 10 minutes. http://kokuryo-jinja.jpFinally, there are a number of places around Tokyo/Kanagawa/Saitama/Chiba to see them, though not so famous, including Shinjuku Gyoen. http://flower.enjoytokyo.jp/fuji/tokyo.htmlAnd if you're able to take more time to get out of Tokyo, Ashikaga Flower Park is THE recommended place in Kanto to see the wisteria! http://www.ashikaga.co.jp/english/
