Autumn hiking in Tokyo 2015/5/27 11:03
Hi, I'm planning to go back to Tokyo for the 2nd time. We were there in spring during our 1st visit.
Can you please recommend a nice walking trail for autumn? Not Nikko please, because the climbing is not doable for some of our members. I have in mind something like the walking trail in Minoo Park / Minoo Falls near Osaka. It's relatively flat, with almost no step climbing.

Takao-san is a nice getaway that overlooks the Kanto. You can take the cable car up and then it's paved with only a few steps up to the temple area. There are several trails back down or you can take the cable car.

Shinjuku Park is also nice in the fall and it's relatively large so you can walk a bit.

Lonely Planet has a book solely dedicated to hikes in Japan, and there are several around the Tokyo area. Try checking that out!
