Kawaguchiko to Fuji 5th station bus? 2015/6/3 12:16
Hi!
I'm planning an over night climb of Mt. Fuji, starting late with no stops rather than starting early and stopping at a hut. The problem is that it seems like there are only two busses to 5th station, and they're really early in the day: http://www.jnto.go.jp/eng/pdf/transportation/bus_schedule_to_mtfuji.pd...

But it looks like those are direct busses from Shinjuku. Does anyone know if there's a later bus from Kawaguchiko to Fuji 5th station? I want to start climbing from around 10pm, is there any possible way to do that?

Thanks!

You're reading the off season schedule. During the climbing season there are buses almost hourly. Check the schedule here. If you plan to start at 10 then you should try to arrive around 9 or 10

The summer season bus timetable is not yet released. But, the schedule is almost the same every year.
From the 2014 timetable, there are three buses available as you do night climbing.
Depart Kawaguchiko sta at 18:00 and 18:50(daily between 1st Jul - 31st Aug), arrive Mt Fuji 5th sta at 18:50 and 19:40(daily, 50 mins single way, 1540 Yen for single fare, 2100 Yen for return).

Depart Kawaguchiko sta at 20:10, arrive Mt Fuji 5th sta at 21:00, but this service is available Mon-Fri ONLY, and, not available on 20th July which is a public holiday.
