Hi,
I am travelling to Tokyo on 20th July and will be there for 5 days with my family.
my main aim is 1)to have a bullet train ride(shinkansen) in a kanto region with Kanto area pass. 2)to go a scenic place where is can take my family on a rope ways(cable car). 3)visiting Disneyland
please help me with some useful tips.
Best Regards, Zeeshan

1) To get the "full-speed" experience, you'd want to go from either Shinagawa, Tokyo, or Shin-yokohama to Odawara. 2) The usual choice would be to go to Hakone from Odawara and do the Hakone round course, which includes Hakone Ropeway, but unfortunately currently the Hakone Ropeway is closed. There is another ropeway in Hakone - called Komagatake ropeway. Please look at the map below "Orientation." http://www.japan-guide.com/e/e5206.html3) Tokyo Disneyland: http://www.japan-guide.com/e/e3016_land.html

Also consider Minakami, which hits two of your bullet points. You'd take the shinkansen to Takasaki, regular train(s) to Doai (still covered by the pass), then walk to the Tanigawa-dake ropeway. The ropeway is very scenic, and you can spend some time walking/hiking around Tanigawa-dake, or just relax then ride the ropeway back. After that, head to an onsen!
July will be very pretty and green, but very hot. Minakami is up in the mountains, so considerably cooler, which is something to consider in summer!

In Japan a Cable Car is a rail car on tracks pulled by a cable. There are actually 2 cars that counter-balance each other on a single track, but a passing track arrangement in the middle. A ropeway is a car suspended on a cable, also called an aerial tram, gondola, etc. You can experience both right in Tokyo. Mt. Takao in western Tokyo has Japan's steepest cable car and a ropeway. Very easy to get there. Take the Keio railway from Shinjuku to Takao-san Guchi, then it is a short wealk to the cable car station. I've never taken the ropeway, but it is nearby and they both go up the mountain.

Just to clarify, the lift on Mount Takao is a chair lift, like at a ski resort, rather than a gondola or an aerial tram.
