Hanamasu reservation required? 2015/8/6 17:13
I'm arriving at Tokyo on September 19, and I plan to use the hanamasu to go to sapporo on the evening of the 20th. I read online that there's a risk that the carpet cars will be full? I'm fine even with sleeping on normal seats so I don't need to be in the nobinobi car, but is there also a chance that normal non reserved seats will be full? Thanks!

Oh no, even normal seats will be full? It's impossible for me to make reservations because I'll only be in Japan on 19 :(

After thinking, I might just take a plane to sapporo. My problem now is, are there many taxis in nippori area that can take us to Narita at 3am? The flight is at 6am, and since there are no trains going to the airport at that time (I checked hyperdia), a taxi or bus is our only option.

You can reserve TAXI at hotel front. Going to NARITA at 3am will be OK. Reservation fee will be added to the TAXI fee, around \500. Midnight TAXI fee is 30% higher than daytime. Have a good day!

It'll probably be a lot easier and cheaper to book a hotel closer to the airport than pay for a early morning taxi ride.

Re: Hanamasu reservation required? 2015/8/7 12:09
nelze,

Have you checked the price of the flight?

I found it will be around 30000 yen for early morning flight from Narita to Sapporo by JetStar on 20th Sep. You can get ANA's Experience JAPAN fare (10800 yen) though it should be after 16:00.

Thanks for the comments!

I will check if there are still available hotels near the airport. Is there a specific one you would recommend?

@frog
I need to be in Sapporo by 10am, so I got the flight from Vanilla air which costs Y11,000.

Thanks!

nelze,

Are you talking about the flight on 21st? If you must be in Sapporo before 10 on 21st, you may as well consider the night flight on 20th. As I checked on Trivago, there are many rooms in both Narita and Sapporo, and Narita is cheaper in general though.

Re: Hanamasu reservation required? 2015/8/7 15:29
Sorry, me again.

On 21st, you can choose 10,800 yen flight by ANA in the early morning.

From Nippori to Haneda Airport:

If you take 7:00 flight, Route 1 is enough.

Re: Hanamasu reservation required? 2015/8/7 15:34
@frog

I will be in a convention the whole day on the 20th until 6pm, so unfortunately I will not be able to make any flights on the evening on that day as it will be too rushed. :( My only choice is the early morning flight on the 21st.

@guest
I checked the site and put in my dates, it says no plans found. :( Can you recommend other places? Hopefully big enough to fit 3 people, but it can't be a cheap guest house because I will be with a business client that evening to go with me to Sapporo and it will be quite embarrassing for me to book in a guest house. This is why I'm willing to pay for an expensive taxi in the morning from Nippori because our hotel in Nippori is quite decent for the price, and we will be splitting the taxi ride so it won't be too expensive.

I looked online and saw a taxi service called Tokyo Airporter, has anyone tried this out? It costs Y19,000 one way from Nippori to the Airport, is this a decent price?

Thanks!

@frog

I just saw the link!

This seems to be a better option since Haneda is closer. I will discuss it with my companions. Thank you very much! :)

@frog

Sorry! I have more questions!

The earliest train from Nippori to Haneda is 4:30am and will arrive at 5:30am, which might be cutting it close for the flight. How many minutes do you usually have to be in the airport before a flight?

I assume the taxi is cheaper to Haneda right? Do you have estimates how much a taxi will cost?

Thanks!

I saw the price in Tokyo Airporter, it costs Y8,400 to go to Haneda from Nippori. Is this company good? It's a lot cheaper than going to Narita! We will definitely take the ANA flight @frog :)

For domestic flight, you must be at the checkin counter 30 min before the departure time. So, if you take 6:20 flight, you should be at 5:50. If you take the monorail, I assume 10 min walk would be enough for you to reach the counter. So if you arrive at 5:40, it will be OK. For ANA flight, you should get off at Haneda Airport Terminal 2.

Yes, it is cheaper as compared to Narita. But it still is expensive as compared to JR train + Monorail. The taxi cost should be around 7,000 yen. Further I believe public transport is more reliable in this case.

I looked at hyperdia, and the first Tokyo Monorail Haneda Expresss train will bring me to HANEDA AIRPORT TERMINAL 1 - is this the international airport or domestic airport? How do I transfer to Terminal 2? I've never been to Haneda airport, so I'm afraid I might get lost haha.

Also even though hyperdia says there's a train 4:58am from hamamatsucho, how come when I looked at the tokyo monorail site, the first train is at 5:11am? :( Is it outdated?

Sorry for the many questions! Is this train route correct for Terminal 2?

Haneda Terminal 2 contains the domestic terminal? I just want to be sure because I've never been to Haneda airport so I'm not sure if the domestic or international flights are in the same terminal. So assuming 5:18 arrival is correct, that's enough time for check in?

Can you bring food on the plane? I was planning to buy from a family mart from outside and bring it on the plane.

Thanks!

Re: Hanamasu reservation required? 2015/8/8 12:46
Open HND web site.
https://www.tokyo-airport-bldg.co.jp/en/map/
T1 or T2 depends on air companies.

HND have 3 terminals T1/T2 for domestic and Int'l one.
Int'l is newer with using another url(domain) web.
http://www.haneda-airport.jp/inter/en/
Int'l is close but different location and train stations placed no calling "T3".
