Oirase Buses or Hitch-hiking...? 2011/7/13 14:54
I'm planning a trip to Oirase, about 24th July, and ran into a problem - I have limited time, and can only get to Makadoikawa stop at 1353 (coming from Shin-Aomori), but I have to get on board the 1538 bus at Choushi-ootaki heading in the OPPOSITE direction back to Hachinohe. It takes nearly 3 hrs to walk the distance - I just want to walk part of it on foot (so that I can take pictures at Choushi no Ootaki, Shiroito no taki, Kumoi no taki, Ashura no Nagare in particular), but it seems like during the timing in between, there are no JR Oirase/Mizuumi buses. Are there any other buses that transverse this route? Or is hitchhiking viable at this period? I am planning to skip the stretch between Kamoi no taki and Choushi Ootaki bus stop.

Here is the timetable of the buses that run parallel to the Oirase stream:

Getting around Oirase - OTHER than JR 2011/7/13 18:31
Hi Uji, thanks for answering, but I already have this timetable - in fact I have the detailed one in Japanese, but the time scheduled JR provided is not workable for me (unless i learn to fly in between points), so I was wondering if there are any local buses, or if there's often vehicles driving through that I can hitchhike on.

The JR buses ARE the local buses. I think they are the only ones. There are lots of sightseeing buses, but normal people cannot board them.
