Prince Hakone-Kachi2 Ropeway-Fuji-Q 2011/9/1 00:56
Hello I plan to stay at Prince Hakone Hotel on 24-26th of November and planning to go to Fuji-Q Highland on the 25th.

I plan to go from Prince Hakone to Kachi Kachi Ropeway in the morning and then get to spend the rest of the day at Fuji-Q Highland. How do I get there & the cost & the time required?

And when is the latest time I can go back to the hotel?

Please help! Thank you :)

By Odakyu and Fujikyu bus via Gotemba (the Prince Hotel is near Hakone-en). In the evening, an additional transfer to an Izu-Hakone bus between Togendai/Kojiri and the Prince Hotel is required:

I think you would have to take the bus from Fuji Q Highland around 5pm to make it back by bus. If you don't mind taking a taxi between Togendai and the hotel (not sure how easy it is to get one there), then you could take a bus one hour (one weekdays) or two hours (on weekends) later.

Thanks Uji for the reply :). I was wondering does the Ropeway Station provide a bus to Fuji-Q or do I need to go back to Kawaguchiko St to get there? Does it cost 210 yen too?

Do you know the timetables for
1)Odakyu Hakone Highway Buses from Hakone-en to Gotemba & vice versa , and
2)Fujikyu Buses from Gotemba to Kawaguchiko St / Fuji-Q and vice versa? I can't seem to find them..

One out of two Retro Buses runs directly from the ropeway to the Highland Resort Hotel & Spa which is near the entrance to Fuji Q Highland. The fare is likely to be a little bit more than 210 yen. And the timetables are here:

I haven't found them in English. Here is the Japanese version:

Thanks for the reply Uji, it's a great help :)

From the link that you've given me, I assume that the Fujikyu buses that I need to take to Yuransen Iriguchi and Fuji-Q are the retro buses, is that correct?

And how do I differentiate between outward and homeward buses? Do they look different?

And lastly, does this mean in the evening I need to get off at Hakone Togendai (Hakone Togendai = Togendai, right?) and then transfer to Izu Hakone Bus?

I found this site but I can't seem to see the timetable for Togendai- Hakone-en..

I'm really confused. Sorry for all the trouble Uji.

Yes, I stated so before.

And how do I differentiate between outward and homeward buses? Do they look different?

The sign at the front of the bus. Also, I recommend to get familiar with the basic geography of the area. Then it will be easy to know in what direction to take the bus. Here are some basics in addition to the links I have already provided above:
http://www.japan-guide.com/e/e6905.html

And lastly, does this mean in the evening I need to get off at Hakone Togendai (Hakone Togendai = Togendai, right?) and then transfer to Izu Hakone Bus?

Yes. The Odakyu bus only goes as far as Togendai. From the bus stop it is about 500 meters (5-10 minute walk) to the Kojiri bus stop of the Izu Hakone Bus.

It's the wrong bus line. Here is the right one:
http://www.izuhakone.co.jp/bus/search/timetable/route/route071.php
ŒÎK means Kojiri
ƒUEƒvƒŠƒ“ƒX” ª means Prince Hotel
” ª‰€ means Hakone-en

The hotel is only a few hundred meters from the Hakone-en bus stop.

Sorry Uji, but where is Kojiri?

A short walk from Togendai.

you can walk to Kawaguchiko Station 2011/9/3 08:00
It is only about a 10 min walk to the ropeway from Kawaguchiko Station. You can get maps at the info center outside the station. The retrobus only comes around about once an hour so it will waste a lot of your day if you have to wait for the retrobus. .You can check the schedule before hand and make sure you get on the bus without having to wait though, just sayin if you miss it, there is no reason to wait an hour, just walk 10 min back to the station. It is less than a 5 min train ride from Kawaguchiko station to Fuji Q highland (the next train station is the Fuji-Q Highland entrance, I think around 160 yen). You might want to think about doing the ropeway in Hakone and just coming to Fuji-Q Highland for the day, you are going to need all day, especially if you have to leave at 5 pm. You can find train times at hyperdia.com, there is a train like every 30 min. Have fun!!

Thanks for the reply too lilu, it's a great help.. :)

I decided not to go to Kachi2 Ropeway and on the 24th still in Tokyo, then go to Fuji-Q by train.. and on the 25-26th I'll stay at Hakone and enjoy everything that I can ride using Hakone Free Pass..

Thanks for all your advice guys, I can finally finish my itinerary to Hakone & Fuji-Q :):)
