Using Softbank prepaid Sim In US Iphone? 2011/9/2 17:11
I have an iPhone 4 running 4.3.5. I just purchased=
a gevey sim. I also have a softbank prepaid aim cut to micro sim size. I am leaving to Japan in a couple days and just want to know what I need to do either here in he us or japan when I land for my phone to work?

Also I didn't jailbreak my phone. Ive heard all I need to do is set softbank=
apn settings but I want my s mail to work also. Please help.

Your phone has to be unlocked for you to change the APN. If it is not already unlocked either your carrier has to unlock it for you or you have to jailbreak it.

Thanks smooch for the info, the gevey sim that I mentioned unlocks the iPhone for me. I can't jailbreak because I'm running 4.3.5. I just want to know to use the prepaid sim all I need to do is change apn settings and I will recieve phone calls and s mail?

Also can I change the apn settings while I'm on the plane so that I can have a working phone when I land.
