How do I get from Gujo Hachiman to Kanazawa

I traveling from Nagoya and staying a night in Gujo then next day going on to Kanazawa can anyone suggest the best way to travel

By bus via Shirakawago. There is one bus per day from Gujo to Shirakawago in the morning:

Alternatively, you could travel via Takayama. There are more connections, but it would be more expensive.

So I could change my itinerary to do Gujo then to Takayama what are my choices from Gujo to Takayama, I would spend spend a couple of days there and then what choices are there to get to Kanazawa?

Viv1 - I went from Gujp Hachiman to Takayama - 2 nights - to Kanazawa with a stop - 3 hour - in Shirakawago in April 2010. That itinerary made sense for me as I was going on the Tateyama Kurobe Alpine Route.

I read in another post that there is a direct bus that goes from Nagoya right into the Gujo town center and runs twice a day but did not say which one or do all the takayama buses stop right down town Gujo?
