Nara from Todaiji Temple to Horyuji

We have planned one day to visit Nara on 21 Dec 2011 and Todaiji Temple is our first stop.

We are thinking of visiting Horyuji thereafter. Please advise how to go to Horyuji by either bus or train from Todaiji.

Any good Japanese restaurant to recommend near Todaiji which is not expensive?

From Todaiji, you can walk or take a bus to Kintetsu or JR Nara Station as explained here:

After Horyu-ji,
-walk to JR Horyu-ji station if you go back to Osaka
-ride the same bus(No.97) to Koriyama station(480yen) if you go back to Kyoto. Departure time are 15:13 and 16:03.

or you can ride a JR train to Kyoto via Nara at JR Horyu-ji station.
