Can Icoca use to ride on JR Limited Express? 2011/12/16 01:57
Continued question
- if so, how to reserve the seat?
- and how to use the card on that train with reserved seat (price of reserved seat is higher than that of unreserved one, so how does the card know I reserve the seat)?
- Where to buy Icoca Card? and How to recharge?
-What is maximum amount of money that I can recharge?
- If the amount of money in the card is not enough, how to do?

thx a lot

You can use Icoca to pay the base fare for a section that is completely inside the area covered by Icoca, but the limited express fee cannot be paid by Icoca and must be purchased separately.

Where to buy Icoca Card? and How to recharge?

At ticket machines.

What is maximum amount of money that I can recharge?

The maximum amount to be stored on an Icoca card is 20,000 yen.

If the amount of money in the card is not enough, how to do?

Recharge the card.

Yes you can use the ICOCA card, to Enter and Exit the ticket gates.

However you still need to purchase a separate Limited Express ticket (and seat reservation if you plan on riding in a reserved seat). This can be done at ticketing offices at JR stations.

These are physical tickets that will be presented for inspection if asked.

- Where to buy Icoca Card? and How to recharge? You can purchase the Icoca card in the JR West service area (Osaka etc etc). You cannot purchase it in a place like Tokyo, which sells (Suica cards), You can use Suica on Icoca systems and Icoca on Systems (JR only).

-What is maximum amount of money that I can recharge?

20,000 yen.

If the amount of money in the card is not enough, how to do?

Recharge the card any ticket machines. If the amount is not enough to exit the station, use the FARE ADJUSTMENT machines to pay the fare difference.
