Drive Yokohama to Hakuba

Im driving with my girlfriend from yokohama to hakuba in January and I am going to take the way that goes near kawaguchi-ko/mt.fuji. We have the whole day to drive there and I'm wondering if anybody knows any nice views along the way? Or any interesting stops along the way?? Thanks so much!!

I drive from Yokohama to Hakuba a few times during the snow season. If it's clear, the view around Fuji are great, of course.
I woudl stop at Matsumoto, to see the castle there.
The views along the route a good, even if you don't get off the expressway.
Your Navi may try to take you many different ways, but the easiest way is to take route 16 out of Yokohama to the Tomei Expressway, and west to Gotemba, and off there. There is Factory outlet there if your girlfriend likes shopping!!!!
From Gotemba, you take the Higashi-Fuji-Goko road, then up to the Chuo.
