Ikebukuro Station & Taxis 2011/12/19 11:15
Hope to get some answers. Our family of 4 will be traveling to Tokyo in March, planning to take the NEX to Ikebukuro station. I've read somewhere that there's no elevator or escalators at this station which means we have to lug our luggage up and down the stairs?

About the taxis there, can it accommodate 4 adults or do we have to split up and take 2 taxis? This is just for short distance trip from the station to our hotel.

Also, how is the weather like in early March? Still need to wear heavy jacket or just long sleeve tops will do?

Thanks!

All platforms at Ikebukuro Station have both escalators and elevators.

All taxis can accommodate 4 adult passengers, but the trunk may not be big enough to hold all of your luggage. So it may be easier to split up into 2 taxis if you are travelling with lots of luggage.

March will still be cold. The average daytime temperature is about 13 degrees C (55 degrees f) in Tokyo.
