From Matsumoto to Magome

We intend to go by train on April. There are two options: Chuo line (JR Tokai) or (Wide-View) Shimano which is an express one but much more expensive (we have JR pass). Is the view from the Shimano train worth the cost?!

I assume you refer to the Magome in Kiso Valley and not the subway stop in Tokyo, in which case you are taking a train to Nakatsugawa. The view is the same from both trains as they run on the same tracks and if you have a JR Rail Pass there is no cost other than your pass.
