Okinawa Beaches in March

So my holidays in Japan were limited so i could only go to Okinawa in March. I will be staying at a hotel in Naha. I wanted to visit some beaches(and potential go for a swim if it is not too cold). I was wondering if someone knew if there were some nice beaches open from mid march to late march. Since i will be in Naha, anything close would be great but i would be willing to travel to farther ones if i could get there by bus or if there were any smaller islands that are accessible by ferry within 2 hours.

I've been to Okinawa Honto in March and it was absolutely swimmable in terms of temprature.
But regardless of the season, to be on the safe side, you may want to stick to beaches where lifeguards are present. There are too many beaches in Okinawa where you'd be the only person there, and that has its good sides and bad sides.
To travel to the nicer beaches, you will need a taxi or rent-a-car anyway, so you can also discuss locations with the driver or rent-a-car clerk.

One other thing, that Uco alluded to, is to be very careful of the sea critters. Critters to be aware of include sea urchins, lionfish, stonefish, blue-ring octopus, sea snakes, and moray eels to name a few. Although not as large and imposing as sharks, they can still hurt you, especially the Blue-ring Octopus, it is deadly! Now, having scared you into not going in the water, I've seen most of them while snorkeling and diving in Okinawa and have never been bothered by any of them. For more info, here's a link to a pdf put out by the US Marines. http://www.marines.mil/unit/mcbbutler/SiteCollectionDocuments/Water%20...
