hi , i have 4days to visit Hakone and fuji 5 lakes. after i search internet my plan become like this :
March 10 From Ueno station ( 8 am - JR Railway) - Odawara ( Hakone tozan railway) - Gora (hakone cable car) - Souzan - Owakudani - Togendai (Hakone sighseeing boat) - Hakone machi (walk)- detached palace garden (walk) - Moto Hakone (walk) - Hakone Shrine ( bus) - Hakone Yumoto - Gotemba - Fujikawaguchiko machi ( over night at hotel)
question: 1. my schedulle is right?
2. i see from Souzan - Togendai using Hakone ropeway, so how i go to Owakudani ? from Souxan i must walk to Owakudani, and after that back, walk again to Togendai/ Souzan or they have stop at middle?
3. how from Hakone Yumoto to Gotemba ? , should i back to Odawara again and take JR Railway?
4. How from Gotemba to Fujikawaguchiko machi? my hotel near there.
5. should i take Hakone free pass or Fuji Hakone Pass ?
thank you for your help

1. my schedulle is right? It is faster to travel from Moto-Hakone to Gotemba by boat and Odakyu bus via Togendai rather than via Yumoto. i see from Souzan - Togendai using Hakone ropeway, so how i go to Owakudani ?It is located along the way at the point where you transfer between the two ropeways. So, you have to get off there, anyways. There is a map of Hakone here under "how to get there": http://www.japan-guide.com/e/e5203.htmlhow from Hakone Yumoto to Gotemba ? , should i back to Odawara again and take JR Railway?Again, I recommend to take the sightseeing boat from Moto-Hakone back to Togendai, and catch a Odakyu Highway Bus from there to Gotemba Station. How from Gotemba to Fujikawaguchiko machi? my hotel near there.By bus. There is a direct Fujikyu bus from Gotemba to Kawaguchiko, which operates about once per hour: http://bus.fujikyu.co.jp/line/jikokuhyo/01.htmlTransportation between Hakone and the Fuji 5 Lakes is also explained here with a map: http://www.japan-guide.com/e/e6905.html?aFROM=5200_6900should i take Hakone free pass or Fuji Hakone Pass ?If you return from Kawaguchiko to Tokyo afterwards and do not spend more than 3 days in total in Hakone and Kawaguchiko, then a Fuji Hakone Pass would be a suitable pass. But then you should use Odakyu Railways from Shinjuku on day 1 rather than JR to get to Odawara.

Hi again Uji :D,
you mean better i take fuji hakone pass, because i will at fuji 5 lakes area 3 days.
which one better ( more efficient )
Plan A March 10 from Ueno station ( mid day)- Kawaguchiko ( stay over night there ) ----- using my last day JR PASS
March 11, 12 -----explore fuji 5 lakes March 13 ------ to Hakone, doing Hakone loop , and i must at Haneda airport 8 pm back to Indonesia ( my flight 23.45 pm)
for my 3 days ( March 11,12,13 ) buy Fuji Hakone Pass
or
Plan B March 10 go to Hakone first, doing Hakone loop then go to Kawaguchiko station. (buy Fuji Hakone Pass)
11-13 march explore Fuji 5 lakes then go Haneda airport.
in this case if i buy Fuji Hakone Pass, means on March 13 i must buy some pass again to explore fuji 5 lakes.
so which one better plan A or plan B

The Fuji Hakone Pass is valid for only three consecutive calendar days. Since you will be underway for four calendar days and - in addition to that - consider traveling directly to Haneda afterwards instead of returning to Tokyo, the pass is not ideal. It is probably better to buy regular tickets and consider a Hakone Free Pass for Hakone. Of the two options, I like the second one better because it is easier to get to Haneda from Hakone. In fact, there is a direct bus: http://www.odakyu-hakonehighway.co.jp/common/pdf/english.pdfAlso, I recommend to spend more time in Hakone. I think that Hakone has at least as much to see and do as the Fuji 5 Lake region if not more.

I guess it is better to buy a Hakone free pass anyways if you are riding Odakyu highway bus (Gotenba-Togendai), ropeway (Owakudani-Togendai), and ship (Togendai-Motohakone). You can get a Hakone Free Pass at Gotenba which costs only 3,900yen and covers all the ride you are going to use. But if you change your plan and not going to use Odakyu highway bus from Gotenba, then just get a gKaizokusenERopeway one day ticketh (2,500 yen) which you can enjoy the two rides, Kaizokusen and ropeway in Hakone . http://www.hakoneropeway.co.jp/foreign/en/index.htmlTime table is available from the sites below: https://www.navitime.co.jp/enhttp://bus.fujikyu.co.jp/line/jikokuhyo/01.htmlhttp://www.jrbuskanto.co.jp/bus_route/cotimep01.cfm?pa=1&pb=1&pc=j0010...Also, there are several places where you can leave your luggage at each station. Please ask the staff when you get there. (If your luggage is not that big, just put them in a rocker, and if it is too big to put in, then ask the station staff. They will keep your luggage while you are enjoying Hakone.) It is not free. As the additional information, there is a bus that takes you from Hakone-yumoto to Haneda airport. So it is the other route to enjoy all over the Hakone. If you go Haneda from Hakone-yumoto, then it means you can enjoy most of the rides you can use with Hakone free pass. (Ropeway, Bus, Ship, Cable car, and Tozan railway) Please check the URLs to make your trip more fun! http://amazing-kanagawa.jp/english/2011/12/16/hakone-open-air-museum-a...http://amazing-kanagawa.jp/english/2012/02/03/hakone-round-trip-day-on...http://amazing-kanagawa.jp/english/2012/02/17/hakone-round-trip-day-on...http://amazing-kanagawa.jp/english/2012/02/07/editor-in-chief%e2%80%99...http://amazing-kanagawa.jp/english/2012/02/17/information-about-hakone...Well, anyways, I hope you will choose the best plan for you and enjoy your trip to Hakone! Thank you for reading all the way till here. Have a safe trip!.
