Yes, they are all different.

if i from Tokyo to Kawaguchiko, which Shiraito waterfall more near?

The one near Shin-Fuji.

how to go all Shiraito waterfall from Tokyo ?

There is a bus between Kawaguchiko Station and Shin-Fuji Station that stops near the waterfall.

How to go to Kawaguchiko:
http://www.japan-guide.com/e/e6905.html

Shin-Fuji Station is reached by shinkansen from Tokyo:
http://www.hyperdia.com/

There are not many buses along the above mentioned route:

Re: Shiraito Waterfall 2012/2/22 08:42
新富士駅 means Shin-Fuji Station
白糸滝入口 means Shiraitonotaki Iriguchi
河口湖駅 means Kawaguchiko Station

The top table is valid through March 2012 and for direction from Shin-Fuji to Kawaguchiko. Click on the "15時〜17時" link to get the second part of the timetable.

In the top row, the relevant symbols are:
☆ operates on weekdays only
▲ operates on weekends and national holidays only
日 does not operate anymore
□ operates on weekends and national holidays only

The timetable that is valid from April 2012 has not been published yet.

What's best time to see this fall near Fuji, ie: if we could only come to Japan to visit this fall either end April, mid-May or end Nov, are we likely to see this fall with a nice curtain of water ? If not, then probably not worthwhile to make a detour.

Re: Shiraito Waterfall 2012/2/22 19:20
thank you Uji for explain that so i try to make plan from that time table, please you correct me

09.40 depart Kawaguchiko
10.32 arrive 白糸滝入口 shiraito
11.50 depart Shiraito
12.15 arrive 本栖入口 Mptos entrance
14.05 depart Motos entrance
14.09 arrive 精進湖入口 Entrance Shojiko or
14.15 arrive 精進湖 Shojiko
15.57 depart Shojiko
16.07 arrive 氷穴 ice cave
17.17 depart ice cave
17.42 arrive Kawaguchiko

my question :
1, its correct this plan?

2. if i want to visit Motosuko lake, where i must get off ? at 本栖湖 Motosuko or 本栖入口 Motos entrance? if i stop at Motosuko , hard to find connect bus. so if stop at entrance motosuko easy to see Motosuko lake?

3. same too , if i want see Shojiko lake , where must stop? 精進湖入口 Entrance Shojiko or 精進湖 shojiko ?

4. from ice cave , if i want see wind cave , how?

5. what pass i should buy for 2 day? because the second day i want to visit Kawaguchiko Lake, Saiko lake and Yamanakako lake.

15.57 depart Shojiko
16.07 arrive 氷穴 ice cave

This bus does not operate between now and end of March. Not sure about the timetable from April. It has the 日 mark.

if i want to visit Motosuko lake, where i must get off ? at 本栖湖 Motosuko or 本栖入口 Motos entrance?

本栖湖 is slightly closer to the lake than 本栖入口, but even from 本栖入口. But the distance between the two is only a few dozen meters as shown on the following map:
http://www.mapion.co.jp/m/35.4597925_138.606786111111_9/

Also, I am not sure what you can do around Lake Motosuko. I personally would not know what I would be doing there for two hours. I am not even sure if there is a restaurant or convenience store for food.

same too , if i want see Shojiko lake , where must stop? 精進湖入口 Entrance Shojiko or 精進湖 shojiko ?

The 精進湖入口 stop is shown here:
http://www.mapion.co.jp/m/35.4826125_138.614003611111_8/q=%E7%8F%BE%E5...

I am not quite sure where the 精進湖 stop is located. I think it is on the other side of the lake. Again, there is not too much to do around the lake.

from ice cave , if i want see wind cave , how?

You can walk between the two in about 15-20 minutes:
http://maps.google.com/maps?saddr=35.475402,+138.666365&daddr=35.47763...

But note that the caves close at 17:00:
http://www.japan-guide.com/e/e6911.html

what pass i should buy for 2 day? because the second day i want to visit Kawaguchiko Lake, Saiko lake and Yamanakako lake.

There is a free pass called "Yuttari Fuji Isshu Free" (ゆったり富士一周フリー) for 3500 yen that covers all the buses (except the useful retro buses) around the Fuji Five Lakes for 3 days, including the bus from Shin-Fuji Station and to Gotemba Station (from where you can take another bus to Hakone):

Re: Shiraito Waterfall 2012/2/23 15:49
The Shouji Bus stop is up at the top of the horseshoe, about halfway around the lake, one stop past the Panorama view trail bus stop. It is right near the Kotobuki family restaurant. However, there are only 3 buses a day to that stop, so if you stop there, walk down to the lake if you want, and then back up and continue around the lake to Akaike stop there is a bus almost every hour. Also, like Uji said, there is not much to do at Shoji or Motosu unless you are there for hiking or fishing. Both are beautiful lakes, and there are udon shops and small omiyage shops at the Motosu Iriguchi, and Shouji has a family restaurant and convenience store, but I think a bus ride after Shiraito through the Fujigane farm area and then past the lakes on your way to the lava cave will be enough unless you are dying to get lots of pics of each lake or something. I would recommend the lava cave (fugaku fuketsu) over the ice cave, but also like it was mentioned, you can walk between them, stop first at Fugaku Fuketsu, then walk to the ice cave. (Or take the retro bus from the lava cave to the small thatched roof village Iyashi no sato nenba or the bat cave or other sightseeing attractions that are on the retrobus route. You will end up back at Kawaguchiko Station either way. http://transportation.fujikyu.co.jp/english/gettingaround/retro_bus.ht...

Uji and Ayame,

becouse both of you said nothing to do much at lake , so i change again my plan, because i just want to take picture near lake.

my plan:
09.40 depart Kawaguchiko
10.32 arrive ice cave
explore and walk to wind cave
11.56 depart wind cave
12.03 arrive 精進湖入口shoji iriguchi/ panorama walk down to lake , take pictures

13.03 depart 精進湖入口
13.07 arrive 本栖入口
14.07 depart 本栖入口
14.32 arrive Shiraito
16.20 depart Shiraito
17.50 arrive Kawaguchi

Ayame, at shoji lake must stop at horsesoe? how about精進湖入口 , not near lake?
if we must go down to lake and back again and go to akaike, we need how much time ?

going to ice cave and wind cave alobe is safe?

how far Kawaguchi to Gotemba?

for the second day i will go to Saiko, Kawaguchiko and Yamanakako lake...how the plan? have bus time table around that?

thank you

going to ice cave and wind cave alobe is safe?

Yes. Just be careful when walking along the main road. There might be no sidewalk.

how far Kawaguchi to Gotemba?

A little more than one hour:
http://www.japan-guide.com/e/e6905.html?aFROM=5200_6900

for the second day i will go to Saiko, Kawaguchiko and Yamanakako lake...how the plan? have bus time table around that?

Most of the relevant bus timetables are not available in English. Here are some resources:

Re: Shiraito Waterfall 2012/2/24 09:17
Hi, Shojiko Iriguchi is the entrance on one end of the lake, Akaike is the bus stop at the other entrance of the lake. The road around the lake is around 5 km to walk all the way around. All of the hotels are clustered up around the top of the horseshoe area, so if you stop at either entrance (Shoji Iriguchi or Akaike) you will have a long walk (about 20-30 min to reach the north shore of the lake where the hotels and Panorama view trail is. Keep that in mind to make your bus on time to Motosu Lake. The Panorama bus stop is not the view point, it is the entrance to the hike up the mountain (around 1 hour) to the Panorama view point. However, the North Shore of Shoji is considered some of the most beautiful views of Fuji-san (and the only place you can view Fuji with baby, Mount Omuro), and a quick walk down to the lake from Panorama stop or Shoji stop. From Shojiko Iriguchi, probably 20 min walk, and from Akaike, maybe 30 min walk. There is a picture point (not at the north shore) closer to Akaike, about a 10 min walk, then you could walk back to Akaike easily. You will understand everything when you see the lake, the only difficult thing is that the buses are few and far between if you miss one. :)

Re: Shiraito Waterfall 2012/2/24 09:29
As far as the next day, Saiko, Kawaguchiko, and Yamanakakko, start early! I would recommend the Retro bus pass (day pass) to go see Saiko and Kawaguchiko, just hop off the bus at the stops where you want to take pics. Or from Kawaguchiko station it is only a 10 min walk down to the Lake and the Kachi Kachi ropeway, etc. For Yamanakako, I would recommend the Green sightseeing bus (day pass) from Fuji-san Station, it goes through Oshino and around Yamanaka lake.

http://transportation.fujikyu.co.jp/english/gettingaround/fujikkogou.h...

Check the bus times, there are buses like once every hour, so that is a lot to fit into one day, especially because Yamanakako is a little further away than the other lakes.
Honestly, I would skip Saiko, walk down to Kawaguchiko in the morning, and spend the day checking out sengen jinja, Oshino village, maybe the radar dome at Michi no eki, then Yamanaka lake, there is a lot to do on the green sightseeing bus route out to Yamanakako. Also, I think you can catch the bus to Gotenba from Yamanaka lake, then you don't have to go all the way back to Kawaguchiko. Like I said before though, if your priority is to get pics of the lakes, then stick to the original plan. The info booth at Kawaguchiko Station can give you maps, info, everything. have fun!

Hi again Ayame ,

so you mean if i want take good picture , i must stop at Shouji Bus stop is up at the top of the horseshoe, about halfway around the lake, one stop past the Panorama view trail bus stop. not stop at Shojiku iriguchi or Akaike.

have bus stop at there?
at my bus time table
http://bus.fujikyu.co.jp/line/jikokuhyo/02.html
name stop is 精進湖 ?

from here i must go down to lake , is this north shore?
then back up again , go around Akaike stop for go to ice cave?
what name pass i must take for this? its different pass with your suggest to take pass for my 2nd day trip?

Re: Shiraito Waterfall 2012/2/24 18:12
No, you can stop at any of the Shouji stops. The Panorama stop is the closest to the north shore. THe north shore is where all the big hotels are. You can walk around the corner back to the North shore if you get off at Shouji bus stop. Conversely, you can walk from the Shoujiko Iriguchi around the lake to the North Shore, maybe 20 min. Akaike too, but it is a longer walk. I just mentioned the other stops because the buses that run only go around the lake like 3 times a day, but the buses to Akaike and Iriguchi run almost every hour, you will just do more walking.

2nd day, yes, those are 2 different sightseeing buses, one is Kawaguchiko, and one is Fujiyoshida. You can get a day pass or pay per stop. All the fares are on the Fujigoko website: http://transportation.fujikyu.co.jp/english/gettingaround/retro_bus.ht...
Just click on "fares"
Here are some pics of Lake Shouji, as you can see it is very country, not much out there. The first pic is from the north shore (the mirror Fuji on the lake is a little rare though).
