I think the term you are looking for is "Capsule Hotel".

If you search this forum for "Capsule", you'll find a few threads. Or search on google.

Just note that some may be male only or may have male only floors (and/or women only floors).

Here's one to get you started:-

Enjoy your capsule!

Yes, I'm also assuming that you're refering to capsule hotels.

Simply google the term and you should be able to get many relevant results.

A safe bet would be to try the area around Ueno station, which has quite a number of capsule hotels that accept walk-in guests.

try 9 hours in Kyoto...trust me this is like what you imagine "capsule hotels" to be like before you discover the reality that they are just grubby cheap little hotels that resemble a 1950s morgue.
This place has the futuristic ultra hygienic look. Designed by japans most famous female industrial designer Shibata Fumie.

The joy of capsules are that they are usually attached to large tubs and saunas. After drinking late into the night at the city center, you get to relax at a bath and sauna, and watch TV, read mangas while you might go for another pint and snacks. You even get an individual space to sleep for a few hours.
They are a dying breed crushed between cheaper internet cafes and budget hotels. Not so many good ones are left inside Tokyo.
