Update/forecast on Nikko constructions

I'm going to Japan around middle May and would like to make sure Nikko is still a good day trip destination from Tokyo.

Seems like repairs on the gorgeous Yomeimon Gate are not yet started. I'm wondering which other places to visit there and if it's worth a day.

As you can see, the Yomeimon is not up for renovation until next year.

I found the constructions on the Haiden/Honden hall to have almost no negative impact on the visit.

I did see those links before and was making sure how bad would be the impact overall by the time I get there.
