Nara in the afternoon 2012/2/26 02:21
I plan to visit Nara from Kyoto in the afternoon (depart from Kyoto Station at about 1.30 pm). I want to see the Great Budha, Kasuga Taisha and the deer at Nara Park. Considering that the temples/shrines close at 5 pm, I am a bit worry with the time frame. Is there any suggestion to make it works? Thank you in advance.

Take a Kintetsu limited express train to speed up the transportation. There is one at 13:35. You will arrive at Kintetsu-Nara at 14:10, which should give you enough time to see the three things if you travel at a medium or fast pace (on foot or by using a bus or taxi between the station and Todaiji). A full day for Nara is recommended if you prefer to travel at a slow pace.
