Getting from Hakone to Kyoto

I will be in Hakone for a few nights in March. I plan on leaving Hakone and heading directly for Kyoto. What is the easiest way to do this? Thanks in advance.

Assuming you have a JR Rail Pass and will take the Shinkansen from ODAWARA, not many stop at ODAWARA. There are Hikaris at 07:04, 08:09, 10:09 and 12:09. There are Kodamas, but you need to change at Shizuoka. They leave at 08:04, 09:07, 10:04, 11:07.

It depends where in Hakone you are starting from but basically you just need to get to either Odawara or Mishima for a shinkansen service to Kyoto. There are connecting ( non JR ) trains to Odawara and buses to Mishima.
