Budget Accommodation in Tsumago / Magome

Can any one recommend a nice place to stay in Tsumago or Magome (or the close area) for a traveler on a budget (I was thinking the 6000-7000 range).
Which one of these 2 towns is nicer to stay at?

Tsumago is more historic looking, especially at night after most of the tourists leave. I stayed at Matsushiroya 松代屋 and it was lovely, but it is out that budget range. There are a bunch in that range listed at http://tumago.jp/english/infomation.html
