Hikes in Kyoto in April

I will be in Kyoto for a few days in April (11th, 12th and 13th). Are there any short (a few hours) hikes that you would recommend? I have heard that it will be very busy at temples and shrines because of hanami parties, so I wanted to go off the beaten path for part of my trip.

My favourite is Kibune to Kurama in the mountains surrounding Kyoto.Use google with search string of "Kibune Kurama" and you will find plenty of details. Doing the route starting at Kibune, gives you the opportunity to go to the Kurama onsen at the end of the trip.
