Scientific Name: Prunus x sieboldii

Blossoms: 10-20 petals, light pink

Usual flowering time: late March to April

Number of trees: relatively rare in Vancouver

Some Locations:

  • South side of Beach Avenue; between Cardero and Nicola Street
  • SW and NW corner of Chestnut Street and Creelman Avenue
  • 38th Avenue between Blenheim and Collingwood Street
  • Comox Street, west of Denman Street

Some Takasago trees along Comox Street in the West End have started to open their blossoms. About one to two Takasago trees per block can be found along Comox Street all the way from Nelson Park to Stanley Park.
