Natsu Basho 2016 - Day 15
It was a very exciting final day. Flohru was let down badly by Aoiyama and lost to fellow Sekiwake Kotononami. Makuuchi newcomer Haidouzo beat veteran former Ozeki Randomitsuki on the second tie-break rule to tie Flohru for 11 wins. The yusho therefore went to a tie-breaker. First, their scores were compared but they were equal. Then their head-to-head record this basho was counted: but they did not meet. It therefore went to the player who scored 8+ points on the most days...and we finally had a winner: Haidouzo scored 8+ on one more day than Flohru so it is an incredible yusho on his debut for Haidouzo! Congratulations! | In Juryo Andrasoyamawaka finished in style and won to go 13-2, three wins ahead of his closest challengers. He will be in Makuuchi for sure next tournament. In Makushita, three of the four challengers won and one of them was Fusenshoyama, whose superior points total gave him the tie-break victory! | Congratulations to all the winners and see you in steamy Nagoya in July!

Natsu Basho 2016 - Day 14
Only three players are in contention for the top-division championship in Sumo Game. Flohru is in pole position and a win over Sekiwake Kotononami tomorrow will secure him a fifth Makuuchi yusho, an achievement that will equal Sumio's record. If he loses, Sebunshu and Haidouzo are both ready to step in and sneak a win on a tie-break. As all three have exactly the same score, every point will be vital on senshuraku. | The Juryo yusho has already been won by Andrasoyamawaka, whose exceptional winning streak saw off all challengers in short order. Makushita is more complicated. Four wrestlers have 11-3 records and two of them face each other tomorrow. Fusenshoyama is in the best position with a good score and will probably take the championship if he/she wins tomorrow. Sadly, the 10-4 wrestlers are out of contention as a 12-3 yusho score is certain to occur. | Good luck to all the players on senshuraku!

Natsu Basho 2016 - Day 9
The summer tournament is proving to have many twists and turns and we have a completely fresh-looking leaderboard after day 9. Sekiwake Flohru is now in the driver's seat along with recent returnees Takanosushi and Bolo. | In Juryo Andrasoyamawaka extended his streak to 9-0 and is looking very lonely up there with only one pursuer two wins behind. And in Makushita there are now three leaders: Asashimaru, Nageru and Fusenshoyama.

Natsu Basho 2016 - Day 8
Two straight losses from leader Gurowake has brought him back into the main pack of seven leaders with 6-2 records. We have a very open tournament now with masses of players on 5-3 and 4-4...anything could happen in week 2. | In Juryo the last remaining unbeaten player in all three divisions Andrasoyamawaka continued his winning streak. There are no immediate challengers but a group of 6-2 rikishi are on his tail. Makushita is now led by a small group of 7-1 players.

Natsu Basho 2016 - Day 6
Gurowake shook off all rivals to take the sole lead on day 6 and is the only undefeated player left in the top division. Only two players are one win behind so it's an excellent start for him. | Andrasoyamawaka and Kaiowaka lead Juryo with 6-0 records ahead of a very fragmented field. And with no unbeaten players left in Makushita, it's chaos at the top, with 12 players jockeying for pole position.

Natsu Basho 2016 - Day 4
The yusho races are beginning to take shape as we close the books on day 4. Gurowake and Toonoryu are now the only undefeated players in the Makuuchi division and 12 players are waiting just behind for any kind of slip-up. | In Juryo, Andrasoyamawaka, Kaiowaka and Smoczayama are all flying the undefeated flag. And the number of unbeaten players in Makushita has now been whittled down to seven.

Natsu Basho 2016 - Day 2
Hello all and welcome to the Natsu Basho of Sumo Game! We've seen a blistering start from the top-ranked wrestlers on the real dohyo and this has translated to extremely high scoring on the virtual one. | In Makuuchi, Sekiwake Kotononami is off to a perfect start along with the two new Komusubi: DeRosa and Chishafuwaku, the winner of the spring tournament. The Juryo and Makushita divisions still have a mass of undefeated wrestlers. | A special mention for Makushita wrestler Eiyuunishi, who has scored a remarkable 20 points out of 20. Let's see if this phenomenal level can be maintained into day 3. | Good luck to all the players!
