Natsu Basho 2024 - Day 15
On a typically tricky final day Oskanohana won along with Yamashiro and Kiriazuma to gain 11 wins. He wins the yusho by virtue of his superior score over Yamashiro. That's his second Makuuchi yusho and it will probably catapult him into the elite sanyaku division for July. | Chishafuwaku showboated to another win but the yusho was wrapped up yesterday. Makushita went to the wire with no less than six players on 12-3 records. Papayasu pipped Konyagayamada by one point on the scoring tie-break and hence takes the yusho in his third tournament. | Congratulations to all the winners! See you back here in July!

Natsu Basho 2024 - Day 14
Seven of yesterday's nine leaders won so the tournament is still extremely open. Oskahanada and Gonzaburow are slightly in front of the field in scoring. None of the leaders face each other so anything can happen. | It's early congratulations for Chishafuwaku in Juryo. He won while his chasers lost and is now uncatchable. At Juryo 1 West he should have a nice bump up into the top division in July. | In Makushita Konyagayamada and Owll are in pole position with 12 wins. Konyagayamada is absolutely miles ahead in the scoring so a win would wrap it up. A loss could let in some of the chasers, or indeed give it to Owll. | Good luck to all the yusho contenders!

Natsu Basho 2024 - Day 13
All three leaders lost and the Makuuchi yusho race is now a free-for-all with nine players at 9-4. | Both of Chishafuwaku's rivals lost in Juryo and he took the sole lead. The Makushita leaderboard was culled somewhat and now three players remain with 11 wins: Tochinojo, Owll, and up-and-coming sensation Konyagayamada.

Natsu Basho 2024 - Day 12
It was carnage at the top of the leaderboard as six of nine lost. Ozeki Pandaazuma, Komusubi Chocshoporyu and Kiriazuma were the only ones to make it to nine wins. A large group of ten players lie in wait one win behind. | Chishafuwaku and Athenayama are joined by Kotononami for the Juryo division leadership after they both lost. And the leaders of Makushita lost too and now there are six hopefuls all with ten wins. Very open. | And we can gladly report that Yokozuna Yumezukuri, with some strong picking, has cleared his kadoban status with three days to spare. Congratulations!

Natsu Basho 2024 - Day 2
Welcome all to the Natsu tournament. Our participation numbers are way up from Haru, back over 200 with 204, close to the highest ever of 208. Thanks for playing the game! | With plenty of uncertainty on the dohyo we are looking at an unpredictable tournament. Yokozuna Yumezukuri will have to be careful as he is kadoban and needs 8 wis to keep his rank. He is off to a 1-1 start. | Only one sanyaku representative is unbeate after two days: Komusubi Kazutoyama. He and nine others lead the top division. | Good luck to all the players!
