Natsu Basho 2025 - Day 15
Ozeki Kakushoyamaii had an incredible tournament, scoring well and also demonstrating the ability to win under pressure. He came through on the final day to equal Kotosho, who had somehow managed (an incredible feat) to gain 11 wins with the fifth-lowest score in the division. Naturally the Ozeki won the tie-breaker and the yusho and has his eleven wins for Yokozuna promotion. All that remains is the rubber stamp from the games master. Well done, Kakushoyamaii...this is a truly deserved and storied promotion that won't be forgotten in the history of the game. And we now have three Yokozuna, another first. That said, Yokozuna Yumezukuri will need to be careful in July as he will need a kachikoshi to keep his rank. | Onosato's loss to Hoshoryu cost Chocshoporyu dearly in Juryo as he lost his initiative to Athenayama, who came through to win the division with an 11-4 record. | And Suifu was the winner in the Makushita leaders contest to take the prize with a 13-2 record. This is his first ever yusho and he'll enjoy a nice bump up the rankings come July. | Congratulations to all the winners and see you back here in the summmer.

Natsu Basho 2025 - Day 14
Kotosho won again and just needs one more win for yusho. A loss would allow Ozeki Kakushoyamaii or Sekiwake Sumio into a tie-break that they would certainly win by virtue of superior scoring. A win would also be enough for Yokozuna promotion for the Ozeki. | In Juryo a win for Chocshoporyu would be enough for yusho. Athenayama's scoring is way behind his rival so he would have to win while Chocshoporyu loses. | It's a similar story in Makushita. Suifu is the points leader and just needs a win. A loss would allow co-leader Hisui in as long as he wins his bout. | Good luck to all the contenders.

Natsu Basho 2025 - Day 13
Kotosho lost today but remains the sole leader, one win ahead of five players, including Yokozuna Pandaazuma, Ozeki Kakushoyamaii and Sekiwake Sumio. The Ozeki is two wins away from yokozuna promotion and so needs to win out. He fights Kitakachiyama tomorrow. Kotosho will face Yokozuna Pandaazuma. | Juryo leader Chocshoporyu lost and now he shares the lead with Athenayama and Chishafuwaku. Pepenohana, Hisui and Suifu lead Makushita with 11 wins.

Natsu Basho 2025 - Day 10
All the leaders except for Kotosho lost so Kotosho is now co-leader with Yokozuna Pandaazuma. Four hopefuls are one win behind, including Ozeki Kakushoyamaii, who posted a brilliant ten-pointer on a very tough day. | Oyama won in Juryo while Chocshoporyu lost. He now leads all alone with 8 wins. And in Makushita there are only four of yesterday's leaders left. Who will crack first?

Natsu Basho 2025 - Day 9
Of yesterday's two leaders, Yokozuna Pandaazuma won his bout while Kaito lost his. The Yokozuna is back in the sole lead with a day-nine kachikoshi. Kaito, Kotosho and Patikoyama are one win behind and will be hoping for their eighth win tomorrow. | Chocshoporyu and Oyama are vying for Juryo glory with seven wins but they'll need to keep winning as seven players lie in wait just behind them. And in Makushita Rikioi, Pepenohana, Kamibakka, Suifu and Hidari all lead with 8 wins. | Ozeki Kakushoyamaii slipped up yesterday but returned to winning ways today to go 6-3. He needs five out of six for the rope.

Natsu Basho 2025 - Day 7
As we approach the midpoint of the tournament Yokozuna Pandaazuma takes the sole lead in Makuuchi as Patikoyama slips up. Patikoyama shares second place with Kaito and Tochinojo. | Chindonya and Bolo lead Juryo with six wins. And, very unusually, there are no unbeaten players left in Makushita. A mass of 14 hopefuls have 6-1 records. | Ozeki Kakushoyamaii continues to impress and is 5-2 on his Yokozuna quest. He needs to go 6-2 in the remaining 8 days.

Natsu Basho 2025 - Day 4
Yokozuna Pandaazuma is unbeaten along with four Maegashira players. Ozeki Kakushoyamaii fell to a first loss (thanks to Hoshoryu) on his yokozuna quest but he still has a very healthy 3-1 record. Eight more wins to go. | Chindonya and former Komusubi Chishafuwaku lead Juryo with four wins. And twelve remain unbeaten in Makushita.

Natsu Basho 2025 - Day 2
Welcome to the Natsu tournament. We have equaled the 212 active participating players we had in March so thanks to everyone for playing. | Ozeki Kakushoyamaii is on a yokozuna run, just like Onosato. He needs 11 wins and is off to a perfect 2-0 start. Komusubi Ganzohnesushi returns to sanyaku after a 7.5-year absence. He's 1-1 at early doors. | Day two saw some high scoring and the lead is shared by eleven hopefuls, including Yokozuna Pandaazuma, Ozeki Kakushoyamaii and Sekiwake Kiriazuma. Juryo and Makushita are still forming their leader groups. | Good luck to all the players!
