Arashiyama
April 7, 2009 - full bloom
Cherry trees in Arashiyama have finally reached full bloom. They should remain worth the trip to the pleasant district at the outskirts of Kyoto for at least the remainder of this week.
Philosopher's Path
April 7, 2009 - full bloom
Cherry trees along the nearly two kilometer long Philosopher's Path are now in full bloom. Early blooming trees have started to dispose their petals into the canal which runs along the path, but the majority of trees should remain in full bloom for several more days to come.
Maruyama Park
April 7, 2009 - full bloom
Cherry blossom viewing is in full swing at Maruyama Park after the majority of trees have finally reached full bloom.
Keage Incline
April 7, 2009 - full bloom
Keage Incline is a gentle slope, which was built to haul boats between canals of different elevations. However, for the last twenty years, the Keage Incline has been moving spring time visitors with its cherry blossoms rather than boats.
On our Kyoto visit of March 25, we had already reported the opening of the first blossoms along the Incline, but full bloom was only reached recently thanks to warmer temperatures.
Kiyomizudera
April 7, 2009 - full bloom
The trees around Kiyomizudera, one of Kyoto's most popular temples, have also reached full bloom, and should remain beautiful for a few days to come.
