2009/04/10 - Cherry Blossom Report: Tokyo
Ueno Park
April 10, 2009 - end of season
This is a follow up to our Tokyo Cherry Blossom Reports on April 6, 2009, March 31, 2009 and March 26, 2009.
The cherry blossom season at Ueno Park has come to a close. The majority of the cherry trees are almost entirely green, with just a few late blooming varieties at full bloom scattered throughout the park.
Shinjuku Gyoen
April 10, 2009 - beyond peak
This is a follow up to our Tokyo Cherry Blossom Reports on April 6, 2009, March 31, 2009 and March 26, 2009.
The cherry blossoms around Shinjuku Gyoen are beyond their peak and are falling off the trees creating hanafubuki - flower blizzards. There are many varieties of late blooming cherry trees that have reached full bloom throughout the park. These trees should remain at their peak over the next few days.
