Travel Highlights 2023
2023 marked another exhilarating year, with thrilling adventures and chances to film and capture what i enjoy the most, breathtaking nature and landscapes. The journey was sprinkled with delightful moments shared with the team. Anticipation builds for the upcoming year's surprises, but first, let's relive some highlights of the past year.
#3: Mount Shosha - Himeji
My summer expedition to Mount Shoshazan in Himeji was a standout moment in this year's journeys. The breathtaking landscape surrounding the mountaintop, ancient temples, and rich cultural history became the perfect canvas for filming. Conquering challenges like the heat and humidity made the trip truly memorable. In a more modest version, the mountain area resembled Koyasan (Mount Koya) in Wakayama Prefecture, another spot I enjoy visiting.
#2: Kitayamazaki - Iwate
One highlight of my year was the trip to Iwate and the Kitayamazaki cliffs. The stellar weather, awe-inspiring sea cliffs, and the thrilling intensity of the rough sea made it a great adventure, not to mention the fun of flying a drone along the cliff formations. Walking down the numerous steps to the lower observation deck and getting close to the crashing waves was a standout moment of the year.
#1: Jigokudani Monkey Park - Nagano
Visiting the Jigokudani Monkey Park in Nagano with my family was a joyous experience. After a day filled with encounters with the snow monkeys (except it was spring and no snow), we retreated to a nearby Ryokan for my relative's first-ever stay. The traditional charm of the ryokan added a cozy touch to our evening, and the outdoor bath, the Rotenburo, became the perfect finale for the day. This experience in Nagano, with much play, fun, and laughter, was the number one highlight of the year!
