Private Onsen in Hakone

We are staying for 2-nights in Hakone. However, we do not have private onsen. It appears that all hotels or Ryokans with private onsen in Hakone are already booked. Is there a way to rent private onsen in the area for an hour or so?

Why u dont consider public onsen in hakone

Hakone Yuryo have a selection of private baths that you can reserve in advance. Price varies, depending on the size of bath that you reserve.

There's also other facilities onsite, such as a restaurant. Access to Hakone Yuryo is easy, as they provide a free shuttle bus between Hakone Yumoto station and their facility.


Another option is Tenzan Onsen. There is a large public bath (and tattoo friendly, if anyone in your party has tattoos), however, they also have a limited number of private baths that can be rented on arrival (reservations no possible).

Access to Tenzan Onsen is by Hakone Tozan Bus (Line K) from Platform 4 (opposite Hakone Yumoto Station) and get off at the Okuyumoto Iriguchi stop for 240yen.
