Train to Amanohashidate

Hi everyone,

Just wondering what is the cheapest way to get to Amanohashidate from Kyoto? It seems I can�ft book it on the JR West site, however it is available to book on japantravel (it costs 7230, which seems quite high).

Is there another site or should I wait to book at Kyoto station a few days before hand ?

The cheapest way is to take local trains, in which case the cost is 2320 yen.
Next cheapest are the buses, which cost around 3,100 - 3,300 yen.
By limited express train it costs around 5000 yen. A little less expensive on less busy days. A little more expensive on busy days.

Beware of 3rd party train reservation websites. They charge service fees! Some of them charge outrageous service fees. And there is very little reason to use them. Just book directly via JR.

When u visit amanohashidate, you must buy kyoto tango railway entire line 1 day freepass :1850 yen(included 1 child), it is worth to buy
