Is Kirishima Hotel mentioned in the Japan guide the same as Kirishima Iwasaki Hotel ? If they are not the same, which is the better onsen hotel in terms of hot spring and food ?

They are not the same. Both have outstanding baths. The Kirishima Hotel's baths are particularly unique, while the Iwasaki's baths are huge and wonderful with great sulfuric waters, but the surrounding buildings looks like a prison. I love both of them, but in terms of the baths I would rate the Kirishima Hotel higher. I stayed and ate at both hotels, but I can't remember the difference in food. I think they are very comparable and that it matters more on the plan you choose than on the difference between the hotels.
