Train transfer and tickets 2012/3/28 11:41
Hi,
I will go to Kawaguchiko from Tokyo, first take the Kaiji and then transfer to Fuji local trains in the Otsuki station. I looked up the train time tables, found that some of the suggested transfer just allow around 15 minutes in between. Since I have to buy the ticket for the Fuji local train at the Otsuki station, is this 15 min enough? And is there the possibility that tickets for a certain train are all sold up, so I have to choose other trains or wait for the next one.
Thanks

It is a very common transfer and is very well signposted. You will have no trouble doing it in fifteen minutes.

Otsuki is a very small station so you basically just follow the sign to the correct platform.

It is highly unlikely (almost impossible) that the train would be sold out. You will be able to get a ticket no problem.

Enjoy your trip!
