But its already 2 months... And what do they really need to check me for? Dont have any criminal record, got my university certificates.
Expect it to take longer if it is your companies first time sponsoring a visa. Not only do they have to vet you but they have to vet the company as well. I'd wait another month or so before worrying.

Do you really think its too early to say that I already past the screening? I mean I know the immigration office can be busy some periods + there was the Golden Week. But its already 2 months... And what do they really need to check me for? Dont have any criminal record, got my university certificates.
Yeah. As long as theres no results yet, its too early to tell. Also, another poster is right, the company is also being screened, not only you. We will have the same situation, I guess, the company who hired me is also a small one so I think I will be also the first. Good luck to us..

Ancient Glory...
You're lucky because your company seems really know what is supposed to do, since they've hired a lot of foreigner before, maybe they already know some shortcuts to process the papers.
here in my country, most people who wants to work abroad, in general - not just in Japan, acquire authentication thats why i am obtaining them even i am not asked to do so.

Sent my documents today via DHL, expected arrival in tokyo is on tuesday or wednesday.
Is xx-0001 a zip number in tokyo? The courier staff find it hard to determine that.

Btw, I've checked the list of post codes for you. There seems to be a post code which reads 105-0001 which is in Minato-ku (I figured that you're sending your documents to your employer based on what you mentioned some time ago that your office will be in Minato-ku if I'm not mistaken). You can check th list of Japanese post codes here: http://yubin.senmon.net/en/13/13103.html

Thanks a lot Murakami!
Actually the office transferred to Kitashinagawa after the earthquake.
What do you think of the location? Is it better than Minato in terms of finding a nearby guesthouse? Is Minato has been affected badly by the earthquake?

Hmm good to hear that atleast some of you got good news.
I am still waiting.... 2 more weeks and I reach the 3 months (paper submitted the 30th of March). I am getting really worried and frustrated. First of all the feeling of not knowing anything. Second thing is, IF my visa gets refused, the whole 3 months of waiting would have been a waste of time. Unfortunately nothing much to do about it but just to wait for me
