Momiji in Tokyo-Kyoto/Osaka areas? 2015/5/15 08:41
Hi!!

The question is easy I can book a flight:
Mad-Tokyo Osaka-Madrid or
Mad-Osaka Tokyo-Madrid

Both departure on 30/10 and return on 28/11 ,what should be the best to see the Momiji?

Kind regards :)

The momiji is kind of all over the place from late October to late November. The higher the elevation and the more northern the locale, the quicker it will change ... So if you flew into Tokyo, you could catch more momiji in the northern regions, such as Tohoku and the Chubu regions. As November moves onward, you can move further south into Kansai, Chugoku, etc. you'll be there for the perfect time to see colors everywhere!

Hm. If you're unlucky you won't get to see momiji.
If they're late then they'll be out late November / early December.

So, if that happens, I recommend going to higher elevations such as Mt. Koya where momiji will be out earlier.
I once went in early November and that's how it looked:
