Tokyo intenerary 2015/5/31 01:21
Hi there are 5 of us (3 adults n 2 children aged 11 n 4) visiting Tokyo on 7 to 16 Dec. We plan to spend four days at Disneyland n Disney sea . We are open for another 5 days.Hopefully, one day trip to experience snow? Will we be still in time to enjoy the autumn leaves color changing? Any suggestion?

Hi

Around that time, it is unlikely that you will encounter snow. If you head to the mountains you have a chance. How about taking a train to Toyama, or Nikko?

Still there's a chance you won't see any. Your best bet is to head north. The mountains of Hokkaido and tohoku would have some snow. These places however, require more than just a one day trip so I recommend the prior suggestion.

As for things to do in Tokyo, there are many. Shopping is a great pleasure to indulge in. Especially with japanese technology and funky inventions. Whether this amuses your children, you know best.

Odaiba has an onsen. It also has a large real size statue of a robot. Toys. Science museum. May be good fun for he kids. Informative too.

Speaking of toys, akihabara has everything from figurines to 40 cm tall robots.

As for family activities there a number of gardens like shinjuku goen. There's also a number of child friendly activities like the zoo and park at Ueno.

Other sites include Meiji shrine and sensoji
Or you could do a day trip out of Tokyo to Nikko, Kamakura, or hakone.
