Any chance of snow/skiing in mid-Mar 2016?

Hello Forum Users,
I am planning to bring my family with young kids to Japan in mid-Mar 2016 (haven't decide the actual dates and cities yet). I am wondering if there is still a chance to visit skiing resort for snow activities during mid-Mar 2016? Or and any chance to see sakura blooming in any area?
Appreciate advice pls. Thank you.

The majority of ski resorts in Hokkaido still open until beginning of April, or 6th May apart of ski resorts but snow condition is poor.
From Tokyo, Gala Yuzawa or Karuizawa prince hotel ski resort by Shinkansen both open in March, Karuizawa is artificial snow wher

Karuizawa is artificial snow whereas Gala Yuzawa is natural. Therefore Gala Yuzawa snow condition in mid-March is poor.

For sakura in mid March you'd have to check out Kyushu for any chance.
