Understand that this pass covered Otaru area too.
Just wondering what if I go all the way to Yoichi, which is not covered area, what will happen?
Can I do that by paying additional fee?
Appreciate if anyone can advise what is the flow for that.

Yes, that is likely the easiest way of doing it.
On the way back, you can buy a 440 yen ticket to Otaru and use it to enter the station.
