Visit Echigo during festival closed days? 2024/4/9 16:03
According to the Echigo-Tsumari Art Festival (ETAT) website, facilities and installations will be closed on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.

If I can only visit over Tue/Wed, can anyone tell me how this would affect what I would be able to see?

Ifm hoping the closing days would only impact the museums or manned/indoor installations, and that I can still go around and see the outdoor installations? If so, is there a way to filter the artworks to see only the outdoor ones on a map?

Has anyone tried to tour the artworks on Tue or Wed? I checked the times for a few museums and artworks to see if they might stay open throughout the week during the festival period but there is no special note.

Thanks!

Yes, all the outdoor stuff is there. Itfs there permanently even outside of the triennial.

Plus check the tunnel of light. Itfs a real highlight

I went in 2022 (for my second time) and really enjoyed it:

Private transport (car) is advisable as public transport is scarce and the art work very scattered.

Do bear in mind though, that the museum is good, and that several of the sites are manned/places where the artwork is indoors, so you may be missing out on quite a lot of the good stuff.
