hi everyone,
me and my party of 6 will be travelling to aomori for a 2 day 1 night trip, most probably on 3rd - 4th january. we want to go there mainly to enjoy the snowy weather and scenery.
i would like to know if there are any important attractions in aomori?
Any rotenburos near the city?we cant afford to stay at a proper ryokan though.
anywhere we can enjoy seafood at a reasonable price?
lastly, is mutsu bay worth visiting? how do we get there from aomori station?
warmest regards, Jansen

hey william,
thanks for the links! anyway do you know anything about mutsu bay? i was thinking of going there for the onsen but i was afraid that it'd take too long to travel there and also that it'd be too expensive.
would appreciate your feedback(:

Asamushi Onsen

Towada-ko and Oirase Stream with snow are beautiful. We enjoyed a night stay in an onsen hotel by the lake and went for the Winter Story festival with firework display in the month of Feb. But if you are thinking of doing a daytrip to Towada-ko from Aomori during winter, you can forget about it. There are only 2 daily 4 hr buses leaving Aomori at 10.00 and 13.30, returning buses leave Towada-ko at 8.30 and 14.00. If I remember correctly the bus fare is 3000 yen and is only covered by the national JR Rail Pass, not JR East Pass. Easier to access for an onsen experience is Asamushi Onsen which is only 15-25 min JR from Aomori. There is a 1500 yen onsen pass which one can enjoy 3 different onsens in town. http://www.asamushi.com/
