Best Place in Tokyo 2011/5/26 15:13
On my previous posts, I got everthing I needed and to learn/use about my first travel to Japan. Also, I know that Tokyo is Japan's capital and largest city. Also, Tokyo is one of the cities in Japan that attracts foreigners and foreigners themselves enjoy in Tokyo, I think. I also plan to visit and enjoy Tokyo myself, but don't know what to do to have fun there. And now here's my next question: What is the best place in Tokyo.

THe best place in Tokyo for what? Eating, drinking, shopping, walking...? It is going to come down to your personal interests, of which you have told us nothing.

I love Tokyo, I spent 3 weeks there and I fell in love ^_^

There are MANY awesome places but one of the places that I really enjoy is: Namco Namja Town in Sunshine City (Ikebukuro).

It's like a food amusement park and it's great for foodies! They also have some AMAZING curry in a restaurant on the second floor.

Here are some links:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Namco_Namja_Town
http://www.namja.jp/
http://www.namja.jp/img/pdf/guidemap.pdf

Admission for adults is 300yen and opened 10am - 10pm
To get there it would be best to take the JR Yaminote Line to Ikebukuro station and exit out the East Exit.

Sunshine city is like 4 buildings and is kind of like a mall. I know the entrance to Namco Namja Town is inside the mall and across from a Build-A-Bear store :)

japan-guide.com users rate Disneyland highest (although technically not inside Tokyo):

I love Ikebukuro and Tokyo view from Odaiba.

Near Tokyo, I love Saitama.

Depends what for but I really love Odaiba. I like the journey on the Yurikamome, I like all the shops, food places and the night view of the Rainbow Bridge. I'd definitely recommend it.

You will have to decide. 2011/5/27 03:32
Hello
I spent 6 weeks travelling around Japan in summer 2010. I spent about half of that time in Tokyo.
I tryed to explore a different part of the city each day. I found that it would take several days to explore each little area.
I would say in you are interested in art and history of Japan, then definetly go to the Toko National Museum and explore Uneno Park and go to the Edo museum.
These will give you an education on some of the art and history.
If you want to shop then go to Sunshine city and grab a bite to eat and then shop to you drop.
You really need to look at a guide book and decide what your interests are and what you like to do.
Tokyo is such a large city that I could not possibly just choose one or two things to do. I mean not to far from the TOkyo tower is a great temple and shrine and then a really rich area, I forgot the name.
Roppongi is where a lot of the foreigners go and the Japanese people go to party.
It really just depends on you.
How old are you? ANd what are you interests?
You can always contact me privately to talk about Japan.
Enjoy your trip and let us know how it goes.
