Hi
I was thinking whether is it possible ?
Base at Asahikawa for few days.

Drive from Asahikawa to Monbetsu for Kamiyubetsu Tulip Park 1 day
Takinoue Moss Pink Park 1 day

WOndering how many hours drive required for the above places and whether fleasible? Because I realise I need to change at chitose if I take a domestic flight to Monbetsu

Also wondering whether other places should I venture...during the period

Also think of going to Sapporo for sakura at Odori Park .There is a Sapporo lilac festival from May 19th to May 23rd right ?

Matsumae Koen for sakura (should I drive there ? )There are 2 of us.

Goryokaku Koen for sakura

I should have 6 full days after deducting the flights.

So would mean 2.5 days for Asahikawa , 2 days for Sapporo or others and 2 days for Hakodate ..

Appreciate any other interesting suggestions. This is my 16th time to Japan 6th or 7th to Hokkaido already.

Thanks so much !

A round trip from Asahikawa to Mombetsu by car takes about 6-7 hours.

Also think of going to Sapporo for sakura at Odori Park .There is a Sapporo lilac festival from May 19th to May 23rd right ?

It is likely too late for cherry blossoms in Sapporo. They are usually in bloom in the first half of May, although it can vary by more than a week. Also some late blooming varieties might still be in bloom, for example around the Moerenuma Park.

Matsumae Koen for sakura (should I drive there ? )There are 2 of us.

Here too, you will be able to see only late blooming varieties during this time of the month.

Goryokaku Koen for sakura

I am afraid it is too late for cherry blossoms in Goryokaku.

The points of interest that I can recommend are summarized here:

I have yet to find something interesting in Obihiro. But I have not been looking hard so far.

Sorry, I don't know about tulips, but I think they bloom somewhat later than cherry trees.

and does this allow me to see some sakura as well ?

In Hakodate and Sapporo the trees are usually in bloom in the first half of May, but more eastern and northern cities see the blossoms in the second half of May.
