Myself and four friends are planning to go on a 3 week trip to Japan December this year, after our last year at college.
We're all geeks/Anime fans and want to really experience Japan. We're wanting to Visit all the touristy areas/anime areas and try and travel all around Japan.
So far what we're thinking is
1st week: We'll be staying in Tokyo, wandering around/Visiting all the Anime spots, Shrines, temples, parks, Gardens, Imperial palace, Ginza, Akihabara, Getting lost etc.
2nd week: We'll be getting a one week JR pass each and going all around Japan. We're thinking we'll take the Shinkansen up to Hachinohe and take a local train to Aomori. We'll stay in Aomori and then make our way back to Tokyo visiting other places on the way, Yamagata, Fukushima (If it'll be safe by then), Nikko and possibly others. Once we arrive back in Tokyo, we'll do the same for the south of the country and take the Shinkansen to Hiroshima to see the peace museum and make our way back to Tokyo visiting places on the way Himeji, Kyoto, Osaka take a local train to Nara, and continue on to Possibly Nagoya and Okazaki and then back to Tokyo.
Does this sound possible, or are we spreading the time out too thin for the week? Obviously we're still planning and need to figure out how long we'll be staying in each place, so any input/ideas for places to go would be welcome.
3rd week: We've not really decided what we're doing, one of the friends whom I'm going with, has family around Tokyo so we'll probably be visiting them and doing other touristy stuff like Museums, Square enix showcase, Studio Ghibli Museum and Tokyo Tower. We'll probably be keeping to around Tokyo as we won't have the JR pass anymore.
We'd love to go to Hokkaido but I'm not sure we'd be able to afford it/have enough time.
Also, we should be in Japan for Comiket and Jump Festa so It'd be pretty cool to at least have a look at them. :D
Again any input/Places to go/stuff to do is very welcome and will be appreciated, want to make this Holiday Amazing, Thank you :D
