Then you'll most likely die of an asthma attack. Joke aside, it's extremely hot and humid in Tokyo in August. It's totally disgusting..

First of all, I'm sorry for my poor English.

Humidity is expressed in vapor pressure, which is shown in hPa.

You can see the vapor pressure as well as relative humidity in the Japan meteorological society. Below is the data of August 2011 in Tokyo.

and the google translate.

The vapor pressure sometimes exceeds 30 hPa, which is extremely humid (and hot).

You can calculate the vapor pressure if you are provided with the temperature and relative humidity.

I guess in the Netherlands, the temperature in August should be around 17C and the relative humidity should be around 75%, which corresponds to 14.58 hPa.

In my opinion, Japanese people would feel it to be summer when the vapor pressure exceeds 20 hPa. This started on 20th June 2011 and ended up on 21th Sep 2011. I guess there should be no summer in the Netherlands and I honestly envy you at this point. By the way I am living in Kagoshima which is in the southwestern part of Japan. Kagoshima is more humid than Tokyo, but more than 1 million people are living here :).
