Budget for 5 days stay in Tokyo

Hi,

I will be visiting Tokyo for a conference for 5 days in March. The air fare and hotel expenses are being paid by the conference organizers, so I don't need to worry about that. Personally, I am not that into sight seeing but there might be a day out for sight seeing in the 5 days schedule.

I have not been to Japan before, so I was wondering how much budget should I allocate for the trip.

That was helpful. I have taken out USD 1200 which amounts to about 98,000 Yen, for the trip. Since I do not need to worry about travel and hotel expenses, it seems to be a reasonable amount.

This is my first international trip and for visa I need to show that I have sufficient funds for the duration of my stay in Japan. I was more worried about that but hopefully this amount will prove to be sufficient :)
